Longtime Palm Beach County-based hospitality industry professionals Drew Shprintz and Garett Hagan are the founders of a new hemp-based spirit known as Myschyf, a 70-proof liqueur that recently launched in South Florida.
Distilled and processed by Lake Alfred-based Florida Caribbean Distillers, the neon-green-hued liqueur is made using a combination of hemp seeds and pistachio.
“What really sets Myschyf apart from other liqueurs is its versatility,” says Shprintz, who came up with the idea for Myschyf while snacking on hemp seeds, often touted as an excellent source of plant-based nutrition rich in healthy omegas, fiber, and amino acids. “The pistachio and hemp flavor is really clean and smooth, and that makes it versatile for almost any application. You can literally do anything with it.”
Myschyf can be served as a shot, used as a main ingredient on the rocks, or worked into a cocktail as a flavoring agent. Walk into any Florida Rocco’s Tacos right now and you’ll find a hemp-and-pistachio-flavored Myschyf margarita, a blend of Herradura silver tequila and fresh-squeezed lime juice spiked with the new liqueur.
“Myschyf is really in a category of its own,” says Hagan. “It’s not a syrupy-sweet liqueur that’s going to give you any sort of aftertaste.”Myschyf is sold for $24.99 at local retailers and can be found behind the bar at nearly 60 establishments throughout the Miami-Dade, Broward, and the Palm Beach county area. A list of establishments includes Mellow Mushroom, Pawn Shop, Camelot Yacht Club, and Grease in West Palm Beach; Caffe Martier, Dada, Tryst, Honey, Max’s Social House, and 3rd & 3rd in Delray Beach; Abe and Louie’s and Kapow! in Boca Raton; and all Rocco’s Tacos Florida locations.
